From Baseball America:
Strengths: Upton is one of the few players who truly possesses five plus tools. His arm strength and speed grade close to 80 on the 20-80 scouting scale, and his bat speed is easily a 70. He’s a poised hitter with an excellent idea of what he wants to accomplish at the plate, and he’s capable of driving the ball to all fields. He showed the ability to work counts, even after his jump to Double-A, drawing an organization-high 73 walks. Considering his wiry frame, he has surprising raw power. Upton has enough pop to eventually hit 30 homers on an annual basis. Within the organization, only blazer Joey Gathright can top his baserunning talents. Defensively, Upton’s range and quickness are unparalleled, and his footwork is outstanding. He’s aggressive in the field and on the basepaths, and considers virtually any ball he can reach to be an out.
So give him 30 HR talent?

No... In DJ's, Wright has 54(I think) and his career high in HRs is 19. I'd say the eighties is around 30 HRs, since Broussard has 77 power talent and hits around 30 a year.
This is also a very good example of why Ensberg doesn't need a power drop...

I bet you 72 is fine.

the ratings are dependent on the engine set-up. so it all depends on how players sim with certain ratings.
100 power usually sims out to 50-60 HRs on average.

Seeing Soriano has 70 in HB's and hits 30ish, it is.

For the most part....
70 power=30 HRs 50 power=20 HRs 30 power=10 HRs

Too much power off Burrell.

he is a 30 HR guy and a rating of 70 or so corresponds to that.
its nice to see that you completely ignore the fact that i boosted pretty much every player that you requested and went straight to complaining about th e one player that took a small hit.
tsk, tsk , tsk mr. outlaw star. so negative.

Well, they're accurate, so I'd figure. I didn't ask for Lieber to get a boost even though the Phillies gave him a huge contract for no reason, hell, if he didn't already suck I'd ask for him to take a hit. And Burrell is possible of 40.

Burrell's power is fine. He's had more seasons between 20-30 (3) then getting close to 40 (1). If anything, you give him like 77 power talent.

Helton has dropped from 80 power to 72.
Considering he has a better track record than Burrell - I can't buy into your complaints.

to follow up on the last post:
it seems consistent.
On another note - the bump on Francis looks good. Tough to take the drop in contact on Atkins, but realistically I can't complain.

In a (desparate?) attempt to keep him from being a bust: Steve Waldrop's control and stuff should be elevated. - He had just 7 walks in Class AAA (*cough* high school *cough*) - He also had a .15 ERA and 118 K's, as well as a fastball that reached 93 MPH (Source: www.farragutpress.com/articles/2004/06/851.html)
