Friday 6/25/2010: Huge blow for Houston's Weaver, career over HOUSTON - It was one of baseball saddest days. Houston's right-hander Jeff Weaver fell victim to a career ending injury in a game against Chicago (A) on Friday. He complained about pain after throwing a pitch to Joe Borchard, then suddenly collapsed. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Ruptured Disc Back. In 17 starts this year Jeff struck out 80 batters in 102 innings of work. His ERA is 4.94, his record 7-5. He has one complete game and one shutout. His career featured a record of 133-142 with an ERA of 4.45. Baseball will certainly miss this great player.
I'm still happy about that... and this.
Sunday 6/20/2010 : Ramon Pantaleon's pitches have more bite now, the movement has improved! Ramon Pantaleon is hitting his spots better, his command improved!
So I'll have another Huston Street in my bullpen next season. Huzzah.
Yeah, no bad luck for me... yet. <_<
