I still say Wade Belak is one of the best defensemen in the league.

I want more defensemen who can smash heads and actually get playing time. There's like 3. :-(

Wait... you just called Gonchar good? Wow, you don't watch much hockey, huh? No, I didn't say he's good now. He WAS good back in the day when he used to score two goals on us every time we played Washington and I sure hope he can get back to that point sometime since he signed for five years at a horrendous price. You don't read things very carefully, do you?

You're right though, the only guys worth anything are Ryan Whitney (rookie who will be sick in the near future) and Gonchar if he could play anywhere near where he should (last game 1 goal 3 assists. I'm hoping this turns into a trend.) From what I see, you just called him good if he could play 'like he should'.

...yeah, he would be good if he played the way he should (like he did in Washington). You don't think that a goal and three assists is a good level to play at?

That's amazing for a defenseman, but he won't keep that pace up. Either way, that's not what defensemen are meant for. If it was, Bryan Berard would be one of the best defensemen in the league.

I agree with you on that. Offensive defensemen usually aren't worth it because struggle so mightily at what they're supposed to do. But Gonchar can be so effective that I'm willing to look past his mediocre defnse if he can put up the kind of numbers he has in the past.

Bryan Berard's other eye was the one that was going to learn to play defense. Fuck you, Marian Hossa. Fuck you.
