It is... or was... I don't know if it's still running or not. I do know that it had around 80 accidents in its short time of operation... probably more.

one thing you also have to consider. whether its category 4/5/whatever or not, they might be a little over-cautious this time around, given what happened with katrina. i'm not saying its just a drizzle, but you might not need to be in some huge panic.

I'm not really... but, you know, reading news articles about a storm that could be coming your way is a bit unnerving.
I just wish my mom would stop being a fag and let me fucking leave... It's times like these that I kick myself for not taking drivers' ed. when I was supposed to.

Ho-lee shit.
Okay, call me a wuss... but I finally got around to looking at weather.com to see what the storm actually looked like... and I'm pretty much scared shitless now. <_<

Ok, first off, Rita won't be a Cat. 5 at landfall. Only three hurricanes have made landfall in the US as Cat. Fives in the past 150 years. Yes, seeing a massive hurricane head your way can be scary...trust me, it happens atleast three times a year to me. But really, if you live far enough inland, and if the hurricane's eye or eyewall doesn't pass over you, you should be fine. Minor tree branches, loss of power, maybe some roof shingles off and thats it. I'd worry about Galveston and Seaport. They're gonna get boned up the ass, no matter how strong the hurricane is.
Hopefully FEMA is positioned and ready to take action once Rita passes, and I don't think it'll be as bad as Katrina.
And stop yer bitching. You live far inland. You shouldn't worry about hurricanes unless CNN tells you to. I've been through too many of these fucking things. I've been through two in the last three weeks. Unusual weather climate can be such bitches.

I only live like 30 miles inland, actually.
And I'm sorry, but I've never been through one of these, and I'm just a tad freaked by the talk of it being "the strongest hurricane in the history of whatever".
Yeah, I probably won't be too put out by it... but still, the thought of something similar to Katrina happening here is a bit unnerving.

Why the hell are you guys even taking a chance? This is going to be like those dumbasses in 'nawlins who "didn't think it would be that bad." (obviously won't be as bad in Houston though, but it's the same point)

You know the difference between Houston and NO?
About 100+ feet of altitude.
Yeah the winds and rain are gonna be hell, but otherwise you'll be fine, because the water will run off instead of in.

Exactly. What people forget about 'Nawlins is that they survived the hurricane fine. The levees just broke afterwards. Katrina was a once in a lifetime storm...

I practically begged her to just pack up and drive north, but she's a stubborn bitch and doesn't like to think that anything could possibly happen.
