A 3.13 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP matched with only a 8.3 K/9 and 9 blown saves isn't all the hot for a closer. For a rookie, it's pretty good, but given that the game will always favor a hitter over a pitcher for RotY (I think Gavin Floyd in HBs league was the first pitcher RotY most of us have seen in these leagues) and that Tavaras hit .301 and was just outside the leader board for hits (bunch of people had 184, Tavaras had 183) is why Tavaras won it over Crain.
