I dunno. Beckett and Pierre are each in the final year of their contracts and he's getting two very nice prospects out of it. He's got Willingham, so I don't know that losing Davis is a huge deal. And, judging by his financial report, he isn't exactly hurting for money. I think it's slightly in Detroit's favor, but not worth a veto.

it is close but after looking at beckett i think DET will have an almost impossible take of resigning him due to his minimla loyalty and strong desire for a winner. odds are he will have to be franchised and then will be stolen for 30 mil per year.

The net of $14M for the Marlins makes it fair for me.
Davis isn't much at all, and it's highly doubtful Pierre hits that well again. Two top of the line prospects for a very good pitcher seems fair to me.

I think this is a fair trade. If Detroit can't re-sign Beckett they can franchise him and get a prospect back in the deal.

I can't see Pierre hitting .363 with 100 steals again, but I guess another good spec from the Tigers would probably even it our more (Cordoso or Ciles, perhaps), or a major league player. Pierre does seem to play better than his ratings.

due to the fact that beckett will probably be on the DET roster for no more than 1 year this trade will be passed.
