Minnesota can choose the 1st round pick or any spec with a 3 year period to choose.
Houston can choose between a 1st round pick or a 4.5 spec and below with a 3 year period to choose

isn't there a certain time limit you need to choose which option you want by?

you have three seasons if you decide you want a prospect. you don't have three drafts to choose from, so if you don't take this year's pick, you'll have to take a prospect

ah
Well, I would assume that I have until the draft itself to decide on whether or not to take the pick.
Obviously, I probably will. But why not wait and see if someone on your roster gets a boost of some sort?
