well it's looking less and less like they're gonna leave so I'm not as worried as I used to be. If they did move though it'd be as cruel as when they took the whalers out of hartford.

The latest has the Dallas Mavs Owner Mark Cuban and Dan Marino in a group attempting to purchase the team (and keep them in Pittsburgh). I'm pissed when teams are relocated simply out of greed vs. poor fan support. Quebec, Winnipeg, Hartford - all examples of such. Even more empathy when the NBA pulled out of Vancouver in a similar scenario.

cuban has been linked to so many sports teams though, i wouldn't take that rumour seriously until some actual action happens

They're really overplaying how much he's doing. He's a very small part of a large ownership group (marino included) that wants to keep the team in pittsburgh no matter what. But he really wouldn't give all that much money.
He would buy the pirates....but mcclatchy and nutting won't sell. They're quicky becoming targets for assasination here.
